Who Would You Most Want
Family, friends, partners and even pets have made the final list in a British Airways Facbook poll asking people who they’d most like to come home to this Christmas.
70 per cent of voters cite family and partners as the perfect people to spend the festive season with, followed by 15 per cent saying friends were their favourite holiday companions. Two per cent were real animal lovers and said their cats and dogs would give the warmest welcome. Sadly some 13 per cent said they would like to be able to spend it with deceased loved ones.
The survey, which was hosted on the airline’s Facebook site, also revealed the top five celebs people would like to find in their stocking with Madonna pipping Brad Pitt to the top slot. Jake Gyllenhall, Salma Hayek and Matthew Fox also featured.
The top five destinations people wanted to head to for the holiday season were:

- US
- Australia
- Canada
- Brazil
Richard Bowden, British Airways’ digital marketing innovation manager, said: “It’s not altogether surprising that family topped the poll but we were surprised to see pets making the top five. Icy destinations including the UK, US and Canada were the order of the day for the top places to spend Christmas, although Australia fought its corner with many people prepared to cook the turkey on a barbeque in return for a trip there.
“We suspect the trend for cold weather will reverse come the new year, with warmer climes beckoning as a ‘pick me up’ after the excesses of the Christmas period so now’s the time to start thinking about that perfect holiday destination for 2012.”
