Who Would You Most Want
Family, friends, partners and even pets have made the final list in a British Airways Facbook poll asking people who they’d most like to come home to this Christmas.
70 per cent of voters cite family and partners as the perfect people to spend the festive season with, followed by 15 per cent saying friends were their favourite holiday companions. Two per cent were real animal lovers and said their cats and dogs would give the warmest welcome. Sadly some 13 per cent said they would like to be able to spend it with deceased loved ones. Peddie – A group of RDP house recipients in the Eastern Cape have joined the fight to save the environment in the run-up to the COP17 climate change conference later this month.
Each recipient of one of 710 new houses built in Peddie, outside King Williamstown, today received a tree as part of a joint project by the departments of Human Settlements and International Relations and Cooperation. [Read more...]

At a ceremony last night John Kampfner, Chair of Turner Contemporary, proudly accepted the Award for The Best use of Arts and Culture in regeneration for our new gallery. The ceremony was held at the Lancaster hotel in London and was hosted by BBC Newsnight economics editor Paul Mason. Warner is set to receive almost £23 000 (about R250 000) a year for the next 28 years – an incredible £644 000 – until he is aged 96. Nine in ten Brits don’t trust the internet, a new BullGuard study has revealed. The research found that despite three quarters of the nation being online, millions are still cautious of banking, emailing and opening attachments.
A worrying three in ten have had a bad experience while surfing the net – one in six have been hacked, whilst one in twenty have been a victim of ID fraud or even cyber-bullying. One in five admitted to accidently opening attachments which have infected their PC with a virus and half are constantly bombarded with spam emails. But shockingly, one in six polled said they have no security measures in place to protect them from online threats. [Read more...]
